Alvin Johnson, Sr., best known for his famous song, "Carnival Time," has been a New Orleans Mardi Gras icon for over 40 years. Al, a Rhythm & Blues performer, is a New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival veteran and has worked with the likes of Aaron Neville, Eddie Bo, Ernie K-Doe, Oliver Morgan, Bobby Lonero as well as (the late Tommy Ridgley, Jessie Hill, and Bobby Mitchell.)
 Al has recently performed on the "Louisiana Jukebox" TV program and has been the subject of articles in Mardi Gras Guide, New Orleans Magazine, The Louisiana Weekly, The Times Picayune, and Gambit Weekly.
 Currently Al Johnson has a new CD single to debut before Carnival Time 2007.
